Bio from <http://www.cheriepriest.com/>
I was born in Tampa, Florida, down the street from the stadium in 1975 — the same year that gave us Saturday Night Live and the The Rocky Horror Picture Show, so I consider myself in good company. In 2001 I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with an M.A. in Rhetoric/Professional writing, and I also have a B.A. in English from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN.
In addition to novels, I write for magazines and websites, composing everything from product copy for power tools to interviews and movie reviews. You can find a mostly proper bibliography over here.
For my day job, I serve as an associate editor with Subterranean Press.
The odds are rather high that you’ve found your way here via my LiveJournal blog, which I’ve been keeping for quite a few years now. If this is the case, welcome to my more official sort of author page. If you have no idea what I’m talking about and you’re curious about this other site of which I speak, go here to see it. Most of the content is duplicated, yes; and most of my audience watches me from over there, from sheer force of habit.
In March of 2006 I married my long-time significant other, Aric; and together with our fat black cat named Spain, we moved to Seattle shortly after the wedding. Seattle is very different from the southeast. I’m still getting accustomed to it.
Recently I bought a small blue fish and named her “Merrimack.” She lives in splendor.
